Cascadia Skincare has crafted natural, holistic skin remedies and handmade soaps for communities across North America since 1990.
Our story begins long before Cascadia was founded. The Morassutti family - originally from a farm and vineyard in the South of France - immigrated to Canada in the early 1960s.
Each season, they harvested botanicals and transformed them into nourishing preparations: soaps, salves, herbal infusions, and medicinal teas.
Today, we honour their vision by bringing natural, effective skincare to an ever-growing community.
Where it began
Joel Morassutti founded The Cascadia Soap Company in recognition of the growing demand for goat milk soap in Vancouver. Drawing on his mother’s recipes from France, he crafted natural soaps and herbal salves on the side while being a high school teacher.

A Community Connection
Cascadia became a vendor at Granville Island Public Market, beginning a two-decade journey of connecting with the community. The product line was expanded to include face and body skincare.

A Defining Shift
We rebranded to Cascadia Skincare to reflect our growing range of products. This period also marked a commitment to eliminating artificial colorants and fragrances, something not fully understood in the early years.

A New Chapter Online
The COVID-19 pandemic brought challenges but accelerated our transition into e-commerce. Thanks to the community we had built over the years, our online presence became a growing and vital part of the business.

Returning to Our Roots
As a brand built on real, in-person connections, something felt missing. In November 2025, we opened our first retail location at the corner of Cambie and 6th in the heart of Vancouver, bringing Cascadia back to a physical space and reconnecting with our community in a meaningful way.
